The UFO Jam Sherlock pulls its artwork from Dave's Picks Volume 23, a limited release live recording from 1978, and the scene it captures is pure Dead mythology. Eight skeletons are gathered around a campfire, one for each touring band member that year, some playing their instruments while the others look skyward at an incoming spaceship bearing the iconic Steal Your Face logo. The whole thing is printed inside the borosilicate glass, locking the colors in against scratches and fading so the scene stays vivid long after the jams end.
